GENERAL INFORMATION

What are cookies and what are they used for

A cookie is a text file that a website visited by a user sends to the user’s device (computer, mobile device such as smartphone or tablet), where it is stored to be sent back to that website on the user’s next visit.

Cookies are classified as follows:

• Based on the entity that installs them:

• First-party cookies: installed by the same website the user is visiting.

• Third-party cookies: installed by a different domain than the one being visited.

• Based on their purpose:

• Technical cookies: help with site functionality by remembering user preferences such as language.

• Profiling cookies: track user browsing for the purpose of sending targeted advertising and/or providing services aligned with user preferences.

Only profiling cookies require prior consent from the user before being installed.

The Data Controller is solely responsible for the first-party cookies installed through the Site.

You can find the types of first-party technical cookies used on the Site in the section “First-party technical cookies.”

Information on the management of third-party profiling cookies is available in the section “Third-party profiling cookies.”

Technical cookies are also used to maintain user selections while browsing.

The Data Controller also uses cookies to track products viewed by the user during a session.

Additionally, the Data Controller uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) in “anonymized” form. This means that cookies released by GA4 allow for statistical analysis only, without identifying individual users.
